Niels Pagh Andersen

Niels Pagh Andersen er einn áhrifamesti klippari í Skandinavíu samtímans enda hafa verk hans verið tilnefnd til og unnið fjölda verðlauna um heim allan. Hann hóf feril sinn í kvikmyndum aðeins 16 ára gamall og klippti sína fyrstu mynd árið 1979. Hann hefur klippt yfir 250 kvikmyndir af ólíkum toga, flestar þeirra heimildamyndir. Samhliða starfi sínu sem klippari sinnir hann kennslu og flytur fyrirlestra í kvikmyndaskólum og háskólum um heim allan. Niels er einnig eftirsóttur sem dramatúrg og ráðgjafi. Árið 2005 hlaut hann Roos Pris dönsku kvikmyndamiðstöðvarinnar fyrir einstakt framlag til danskrar heimildamyndagerðar. Á meðal þekktustu verka hans eru The Act of Killing og The Look of Silence eftir Joshua Oppenheimer, The 3 Rooms of Melancholia eftir Pirjo Honkasalo, Palme eftir Kristina Linström og Maud Nylander auk Human Flow eftir kínverska listamanninn Ai Wei-wei en allt eru þetta margverðlaunaðar heimildamyndir.

 

Niels Pagh Andersen is one of Scandinavia´s most influential editors, and a multi award winning one. He started his career in films 16 years old and edited his first film in 1979. He has worked on more than 250 films of widely different categories, mostly in the field of documentary. Besides his work as an editor he has lectured and taught at film schools and universities around the world as well as working as a dramaturgist and supervising-editor. In 2005 he won the prestigious lifetime achievement award, The Roos Prize, The Danish Film Institutes grand documentary prize for outstanding efforts in documentary filmmaking. Amongst his best known films are award winning The Act of Killing and The Look of Silence by Joshua Oppenheimer, The 3 Rooms of Melancholia by Pirlo Honkasalo, Palme by Kristina Linström and Maud Nylander as well as Human Flow by the Chinese artist Ai Wei-wei, which got shortlisted for the Oscars Best Documentary in 2017.
